Whilst Bally are mainly known for the Quick hit series of slot games, it is worth noting that they do have a pretty broad selection of other slot games in their range which are very popular. One of the most followed, for sure, is the quirky Cash Wizard slot game, which is available as a land based, online and, since 2012, as a mobile optimised slot game. Bally’s mobile technology division is very well respected, so much so that we hear they have been lending a hand to brand stablemate WMS in recent years to increase their online presence.

This particular title in Bally’s range focuses very much on a bonus feature system where up to five different bonuses can be granted, whether you like your wilds, free spins rounds or pick win style instant bonuses, there is something for everyone on this slot. I’m quite a fan of the lucky wheel or wheel of fortune type bonuses in land based casino slot games and don’t see them too often in online slots, the inclusion of that is a plus point for me, as are the three levels of jackpot on offer.

Cash Wizard has a very simple cartoon style so it crosses over well from a bricks and mortar casino slot to an online casino game, the lack of double screens and a big enveloping machine doesn’t hurt the game as it never really made use of them except for a signage point in the first place. A couple of updates might have been in order for the online release, specifically in the audio department. The wizard’s voiceover sound bites are pretty limited and can get a little repetitive, though at least with online play you can mute them and throw some music on your PC at the same time.

I find it interesting that Bally have never released official RTP numbers for this game, but list the variance quite clearly at medium. I’ve played it enough to judge the pay-out potential and it seems decent enough so the lack of an outright stated figure wouldn’t put me off, if it does affect your desirability for the slot you could always go with something like the Bonus Bears slot by Playtech which has a similar cartoon theme, number of reels, bonuses and variance. Though it lacks a few pay-lines compared to Cash Wizard.

So far as the magical game genre goes, this is a 4 year old game online, the graphics can look a little dated on the latest machines although its sheer simplicity of visual design allows it to play seamlessly on almost all devices and display pretty much the same across the board. As a cash slot it holds decent potential, but if you are playing purely in free-play mode or can’t access as you live in the USA, I think other games are likely to be a bigger draw despite the exciting potential of the bonus feature games.
